Sexual Health

Sexual Health Services

Our GPs and practice nurses can provide advice and initial treatment for various sexual health concerns, including:

  • Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs): Testing and treatment for infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea, and HIV.
  • Pregnancy Testing and Advice: Support and guidance if you think you might be pregnant.

Referrals to Sexual Health Clinics

In certain circumstances, we may refer you to a specialist sexual health clinic for further care. These clinics offer comprehensive services, including:

  • Advanced STI Testing and Treatment: For more complex cases or infections.
  • HIV Testing and Treatment: Including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).
  • Specialist Contraceptive Services: Such as fitting and removal of IUDs and implants.
  • Support After Sexual Assault: Confidential help and advice.

Sexual health clinics are free and confidential. You can find your nearest clinic and more information on the NHS Sexual Health Services page
