Test results

Getting your test results

If your test results indicate that you need further tests or treatment, we will contact you directly.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

  • in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • by phoning us on 01536 481734 after 2:30pm

Please allow five to seven days before inquiring about your results, as some tests may take longer to process. If your results require a discussion with your doctor, you will be advised to make an appointment.

Difference Between Test Results and Imaging Results

It’s important to note that there is a difference between general test results (such as blood tests) and imaging results (such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans).

  • General Test Results: These include blood tests, urine tests, and other laboratory tests. They are typically reviewed by your GP and can be accessed through your NHS account.
  • Imaging Results: These include X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasounds. Imaging results often require interpretation by a radiologist, which can take additional time. The results are then sent to your GP, who will discuss them with you.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

We adhere to a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. Test results will only be released to the individual to whom they pertain, unless prior permission has been given or the individual is unable to understand the results.
